Specialising in education and care from nursery to school
We care for children from 3 months to 6 years of age and provide them with the support they need to thrive.
Early childhood education is greater than ABCs and 123s
Our programme fosters a love of learning. The range of learning experiences throughout the day helps children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. It also encourages skills such as leadership, cooperation, negotiation, respect and responsibility. Our daily routine provides consistency around everyday activities such as settling, kai time, learning and play. We also encourage and respect quiet, reflective times.
Interactions that build relationships
Each child in our care gets quality time with an engaged caregiver. To ensure that children get the attention they need when they need it, we have a higher teacher-to-child ratio than is currently required by NZ law. This means that our qualified educators can provide more one-on-one interaction, helping children to develop trusting relationships and learn at their own pace.
The right and need for children to play
Outdoor play is essential to a child’s development. Our separate outdoor areas for children of different age groups provide a safe and stimulating space to explore, connect with nature, and learn through play.
Learning and growing at their own pace
Our six separate age-appropriate rooms allow children to learn and develop in an environment that caters to them. Each room at our early learning centre has resources and activities tailored to that age group’s needs and interests. Our kaiako are highly engaged and committed to providing quality time to each child under their care.
Seedlings/Kakano - Our Nursery Room
is perfect for non-mobile children under 2 years old. The daily routine is flexible and allows for individual routines, with meal and sleep times adjusted accordingly. Our experienced and qualified staff members ensure that all children receive the care and attention they need.
Sprouts/Tipu - Our Toddler 1 room
is designed for mobile children under 2 years old. The daily routine is focused on child-led exploration and free play as well as quiet time for those who wake early from their lunchtime nap. We provide learning experiences throughout the day, both indoors and outdoors.
Shoots/Pihi - The Toddler 2 room
is for our 2-year-olds. Our daily routine includes morning tea, free play and activities, tidy-up time, kai time, washing-up time, mat time and quiet activities for children who do not sleep. We adjust our routine to accommodate individual needs.
Blooms/Puawai - The Preschool 1 and 2 rooms
are for our 3 to 4-year-olds. This room offers a more structured routine, with free play, activities, tidy-up time, kai time, mat time and quiet time. At the beginning and end of each day, our Preschool 1 and 2 children and those children who do not sleep at moi time, merge with children from Preschool 3 room for free play and activities.
Grapes/Karepe - Preschool 3 room
is designed for 4+ year-olds. Our transition-to-school programme prepares your child for the next step in their learning journey Our daily routine includes free play, table activities, tidy-up time, kai time, and quiet learning time.
