Reinvesting in our beautiful space here at The Vines!
Reinvesting and upgrading our West Auckland daycare facility is high on our priority list as business owners. Every month, there are numerous ongoing smaller upgrades and maintenance requirements that continually happen to keep our space welcoming and comfortable for everyone.
Over the next few months, we do have some exciting larger upgrades occurring which we would love to share more about with you all.
Progress so far …
During February, we replaced the sleeping stretchers, waterproof covers and bedding in the Tipu and Pihi rooms. This will enable the teams to reconfigure their sleep spaces within each sleep room. Who doesn’t love themselves some lovely new bed linen?
Last week we installed an air conditioning unit in our main kitchen as our lovely cook Chenelle has been melting in the Auckland humidity of late. Chenelle is very much enjoying feeling a lot cooler already!
This month sees the replacement of the floor coverings in our nursery space happening. The commercial carpet will be removed, and it will be replaced with a wood grain type flooring surface. We are also having two large carpet squares made to suit the room to provide comfortable soft play areas for our babies to lie and sit on. Not only will it be more practical, but this change will enable us to have a quicker and easier clean up time after each meal. We are looking forward to this upgrade happening soon!
But wait there’s more …
We have also been researching options to replace the privacy panels on our perimeter fences. Wow, this has proven to be quite the challenge! We have now gathered together some options that we think will work and will be looking to make a decision shortly. Upgrading these privacy panels is set to happen over the next month or two.

I would highly recommend this childcare centre. The owners, management and all the staff are amazing people!
As soon as you walk in the door you feel so welcomed by the wonderful receptionist. The teachers are fantastic, kind and have a genuine interest and love for the children.
The centre is clean and has great resources for the children and the centre cook makes delicious nutritious meals for the children.
Last Month we celebrated Valentine’s Day at The Vines ELC
The Puāwai Room created a special flower and coffee shop.
Many of our tamariki have seen people buying flowers for this special day. The tamariki were very enthusiastic taking turns being the florist, customer and coffee barista. Their imaginations truly shone during this pretend play.
Sorting out the pretend money and purchasing flowers or items from the menu was a fantastic way for them to practise decision-making and role-play different scenarios.
It was a joy to watch all of the children collaborate and enjoy this activity together.
Visit The Vines RLC on Monday 17th March and you might be seeing green. That’s right – it’s St Patricks Day 😊
Our tamariki may come dressed in their best green clothes and we may decorate our learning spaces with green and a sign saying ‘Happy St Patrick’s Day’. Come and find out!
