We would like to encourage you to send an extra set of clothing

The weather is very changeable; we still have water play on hot days, but also have cooler days where we need extra clothing to stay warm.

Our children helped us celebrate and raise awareness by wearing bright colours on Wednesday, 2nd April.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects approximately 159,000* New Zealanders, or around 3% of the population. The traits associated with autism span a wide spectrum and lead to a different way of seeing the world and interacting with others.

For us, this day was extra special. One of our beautiful little learners, who lives with autism, shared her bright smile and gentle presence with us.

At The Vines, we celebrate every child ~ their differences, their strengths and the joy they bring to our loving community.

To celebrate World Autism day, one of our wonderful mums also surprised our preschoolers with the sweetest cake, making the day even more memorable.

Please remember that if you bring in baking for your child’s birthday celebration, then please provide an ingredients list for our kitchen.

As we have a number of children with allergies, we have to be diligent in our checks.

Tamariki have been exploring culture through sensory and art experiences.

  • The children loved making special pounamu necklaces out of clay, using playdough to create different shapes using their imagination.
  • Collaborative experiences allowed them to work together and share in conversation.
  • We had a fun time celebrating Holi, dancing to Bollywood music, throwing bright-coloured powder and creating beautiful, bright Rangoli artwork.
